A Well-Deserved Retirement: Thank You, Fred!
On Tuesday, June 30th, the Eldridge team, along with family, friends, customers, and industry partners, gathered to celebrate Fred Mott’s retirement after 36 years.
The evening served as an opportunity to reflect on the remarkable career and lasting impact Fred has had on our company and the people he’s worked with over the years.
A Career Built on Relationships
Fred joined Eldridge in 1989 when the company began representing Universal Silencer. Having extensive knowledge of the product line, he played an instrumental role in helping establish and grow one of Eldridge’s key partnerships.
Over the next three and a half decades, Fred became known not only for his technical expertise, but also for the relationships he built with customers, manufacturers, and coworkers. He developed a loyal customer base and earned the trust of countless people throughout the industry. Throughout his career, solving problems, overcoming daily challenges, and helping customers find the right solutions brought Fred a great deal of fulfillment.
Looking back, Fred considers the relationships he built throughout his career to be his greatest achievement, saying his favorite part was “working with and getting to know the people at Eldridge to where they felt like family.”
Memories That Will Last
Like anyone who has spent decades with one company, Fred leaves with plenty of memories.
Among his favorites are moving into Eldridge’s current headquarters and the weekly “Cow Days,” when the office would go out together for barbeque. He also fondly remembers joking around with his coworkers and sharing daily laughter around the office.
Advice for the Next Generation
After 36 years of serving customers, Fred has accumulated plenty of wisdom. His advice for those beginning their careers is both practical and timeless:
- Don’t make promises to customers that you can’t fulfill.
- If you don’t know the answer, admit it and go get help with it.
- Finish what you start.
- Always stay positive.
- Put in the extra hours and always work hard.
- Most importantly, continue developing your relationship with Christ.
Looking Ahead
Fred is looking forward to moving closer to his grandchildren over the next six months so he can spend more time with them. He’s also excited to play more golf and sleep in a little later each morning.
Thank You, Fred
The Eldridge team is grateful to everyone who joined us to celebrate Fred and everything he has meant to our company.
Fred has been an invaluable member of the Eldridge family, and while he will certainly be missed, we couldn’t be happier for him as he begins this well-earned new chapter.
Congratulations on your retirement, Fred! Thank you for everything you’ve done for Eldridge, your customers, and your coworkers. We wish you many years of happiness, great golf, and unforgettable memories with your family!
